A Tale of Resilience
Our history dates back to the 20th century when Mr. Amulya Charan Ghara set out on a noble journey of creating a greener community in Baidyabati. Paying homage to his father, Mr.Shyama Charan Ghara, he named the nursery Shyamacharan Nursey. He built the nursery on a piece of land presented to him by the then-landlord for his unwavering integrity.
After Mr. Amulya Charan Ghara left for his heavenly abode, his daughter Mrs. Taramoni Jana carried forward his dream. However, due to an unfortunate turn of events, she could not go too far. Nevertheless, Mr. Siddhartha Jana refused to let the spirit die and rebuilt the business from scratch in 1985 with minimal resources. After 37 years, an incomplete dream was finally turned into reality. Over the years, the nursery grew with time and updated its facilities and technologies. Now, Shyamacharan Nursery is in the capable hands of Ms. Reeti Jana, the only daughter of Mr. Siddhartha Jana. Passed down through 4 generations, Shyamacharan Nursery has gone through the good and bad days only to emerge stronger and more beautiful, just like new leaves that appear in spring after harsh winters.

Reeti Jana
Reeti is the fourth generation entrepreneur who is nurturing Shymacharan Nursery – a known name among the plant lovers in West Bengal.
At a time when everyone is running the corporate rat race, Reeti has chosen to live with plants and make a career out of it. After spending 3 years each at Capgemini and Deloitte, she is now the full-time keeper of the green at Shyamacharan Nursery.
For Reeti, Shyamacharan Nursery is an emotion. She wants more and more people to embrace the green. At the same time she isn’t just an idealistic plant lover. She leverages technological advancements and has taken this nursery to the next level. Her social media content on plants and flowers are replete with deep insights.
